With the night still young, a young woman sipped lightly at her drink, sitting comfortably at the Impresio's bar. Her oddly hues eyes skimmed over her surroundings as she sat there in silence. A number of men had already tried their way at getting her out onto the dance floor with them, not to mention a few women as well. Seren had immediately shot every single one of them down, finding that they lacked an interesting flavor to them. They were either too drunk off their ass for her to even understand what they were saying, or they were too boring after a conversation that didn't last even thirty seconds. The raven-haired girl wasn't necessarily picky when it came to people, but if she was going to go out there and have a good time, she would like it if she wasn't being dragged down and suffocated every second by her partner. So, what else was there for her to do other than sit there and take down a couple or more drinks before the night ended? Obviously, she could go and find somebody herself, but sometimes it was more fun to be the hunted, rather than the hunter. Besides, she had nothing better to do. And she honestly didn't mind the burn the alcohol singed down her throat as she sipped away at her growing number of beverages. It was comfortable, familiar. Something she had grown to enjoy over the years. Why ruin something perfectly good when you didn't even have a reason for doing so?
Setting her elbows on the bar, Seren turned her head to the side, watching with a still perfectly clear gaze and mindset a couple of men down a ways who were beginning to get themselves into a little tussle. Amusement shone in the girl's eyes as she spectated. She could hear perfectly fine just what it was that they arguing over, seeing as how the men weren't too far from her at all. Some petty little blonde sat there on a stool between them, her gray eyes large as she huddled herself close against the bar. The woman was nothing more than your typical club girl, and as Seren listened, she found even more reason for her entertainment. So, as it turned out, not only were the two men fighting over something that they could easily find a replica of if they looked around the room, but also something that they had known for no more than little over an hour. Men were idiots, it was simple as that. Seren had never found another of her kind, save a male at that, but she never doubted for a second that they would act in the same brainless way. Lifting her eyebrows just slightly, she was surprised to see that the men were pushing past their vocal barriers and actually getting a little physical. One had struck quickly, flashing out his hand to grip the other's shirt, raising his other hand at the same time, having clenched it into a fist. Before bloody noses could arise, Seren piped up and hopped of her stool, bouncing lightly on her feet to reach the two men and their club prize.
"Now now, boys, we all know it's never nice to break each other's faces with a lady around," she quipped, standing there on the side of them with her hands on her hips. They were a great deal taller than her 5'2" frame, but not an ounce of intimidation or fear radiated from her. If anything, she was coming off as a stronger presence than either of the two anger-fueled men. Her mostly-golden eyes flashed to the blonde between them, peering beneath their arms to see tears pouring down the girl's cheeks. She could be no older than 21, and Seren felt absolutely no sympathy for her whatsoever. She wanted to yell at the girl to pick herself up and deal with it, to stop setting such a weak example for women. But the dragoness resisted, turning her gaze back up to the towering, trembling wall of men before her instead. "So are you going to take this elsewhere, or would you like me to put a stop to it altogether for you two, seeing as how I doubt either of you could find it within you to stop it yourself?" she inquired, her voice light and airy with just a hint of implied force behind it. She knew her words were provoking, she knew that they were probably going to end up turning on her now and teaming up to bring her down. But nevertheless, the small girl held her ground, still just as fearless as she had been when she first arrived. She was surprised when the guy holding the other man's shirt released the fabric and took a step back. He seemed to be reevaluating the situation, and his brown eyes narrowed slightly as a frown appeared on his face. Seren watched with amazement as he suddenly turned and walked away - at a furious pace, nonetheless - and turned to look at the remaining man, half-expecting him to be beaming with pride that he had won the blonde one way or another.
She was, to be honest, a tad bit put off to find that that was not the case. A fraction of a second passed and Seren suddenly found herself against the bar, right in the place where the blonde had been sitting. When had that little club girl ran off? Or... Ohhh. A lightbulb went off in the dark-haired girl's head as she glanced up to the raging man. The blonde had trailed after the guy who had abandoned the fight. Flashing a guilty smile upward, Seren lifted her shoulders and hands, saying, "Oops," as she watched the man's reactions before her. The bartenders had fled the area at the first chance they got, as well as most of the bar customers surrounding the two, leaving only a few curious stragglers behind. But it didn't look like any security or help was on the way. They hadn't left to seek aid for her, they had all just simply pooled at the other end of the bar instead. The rest of the club was still really too preoccupied to notice what was happening near one corner of the bar. Truly, though, Seren wouldn't have had it any other way. She watched as the man, who was obviously a little on the tipsy side, leaned down near her face and sneered openly. Rolling her eyes, Seren suddenly heated her fingertips and pressed them against the man's chest, watching as a second later he finally reacted and pulled back with a startled burst of a shout. She laughed and looked at him, raising her eyebrows and giving him an exaggerated look of surprise, feigning innocence. "Something wrong?" she asked, containing her laughter as she noticed the burned holes that left slight exposure of his chest. Maybe her fingers had been just a little hotter than she had intended... Oh well, not her problem now. With growing amusement she watched as the brute smacked and flailed his hands where he had been burnt. Oh, come on, she thought to herself, it wasn't that hot.
It was apparently hot enough to make the man run straight for the bathroom, though. Seren watched calmly as he parted a path for himself through the crowd, absolutely mowing people down when they didn't move in time. The girl snickered and let out a sigh afterward, glad that at least something had managed to happen during this night so far. She turned to look to her side and saw the group of people that had ran away earlier, all of their eyes shocked as they thought all she had done was touch him on the chest. They almost looked like a cat with a mouse in front of its face, ready to pounce at the first sign of movement. Seren shrugged and smiled, acting like she had no clue what had happened to him to make him run away so abruptly, and then walked back to her previous seat, grabbing her drink that she had abandoned and taking a sip from it, acting like a sweet, innocent young lady again. She found it funny how people could categorize a person so quickly just from one glance without even getting to know them first. But she almost liked it in a way, because she liked to see the looks on people's faces after they had just realized she wasn't what they first thought she was, like just now for example. Sitting back on her stool with a pleased smile plastered on her face, she looked around the club yet again, waiting for her next event of the night.

The night was certainly young, and therefore bustling with tremendous amounts of activity. People of all sorts were out and about, both humans and supernaturals alike. It was quite interesting to see the vast majority of people socializing with one another. It was also interesting to note just how clueless a great deal of these humans were when it came to spotting supernatural beings. Of course though, many of these supernaturals were quite clever with disguising themselves...others not so much. But, even if the humans in this time are still a little clueless, they are far from helpless, and are actually quite a bit intelligent in many ways. Humans...what a resilient and fascinating race.
The Doctor, or rather "Christopher Morford", made his way down the busy sidewalk, careful as to not bump into anyone. He had been here for a couple of months now, having been temporarily marooned in this particular time period here on Earth. He was currently waiting around and attempting to fix his ship so he could actually be mobile again. But, he knew it would be a while before everything would be ship shape. The Doctor figured that until then, he may as well get acquainted with the locals and get familiar with the current time he was in. It shocked him to discover just how many supernatural beings were here, and he was quite curious as to how they all got here. It was his curiosity that lead him to finding P.I.D.A., a wonderfully interesting organization of both humans and supernatural beings that worked to keep the peace between both factions. He had been asked to join the team after they had discovered his wide knowledge on a great deal of many things here. Since then, he had been assisting P.I.D.A. in settling down disputes that could threaten any innocent bystanders. The Doctor was quite optimistic about this time period, because even though he was stuck for the time being, he could at least do some good and help out. However, since he joined, he had been told to give himself a name, why, he was unsure. So, on a whim, the Doctor chose the name Christopher Morford, because it sounded a bit sophisticated. Of course though, he still insists on being called the Doctor, simply because he is used to that name seeing as he had made others call him this for several centuries now. Sometimes it took him a while to remember his true name, though no one else would ever learn it.
He stopped in his tracks, his hazel-brown eyes scanning over a building he had seen quite a few times since he had arrived here. A bright grin popped on his face as the idea of actually walking in occurred to him. It certainly wouldn't harm him to take a peek inside, perhaps grab a drink as well. Humans could make some pretty good drinks, and the Doctor felt he deserved one at least. However, he felt he wasn't exactly dressed properly for the whole "club" scene. A light brown duster overcoat over a dark brown suit with blue pinstripes and a tie to match, as well as his "geeky" black square rimmed glasses. The Doctor made his way inside, taking note on the large crowd of people inside. Some were sitting down at the bar, or in the nearby booths, drinking and talking with their companions, and others were on the dace floor, moving and gyrating to the music. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, some a little too much however. He chuckled to himself as he sauntered over to the bar.
"Ah yes...I think I'd like myself a banana daiquiri please." The Doctor asked the bartender with a big goofy grin on his face. His accent was certainly a little different than the natives of this area. When he first started visiting this world some centuries ago, he first stumbled upon England, and there he imprinted on the local accent which he was told it was a "Estuary English" accent. He was told it was a rather endearing accent, so he was quite keen in keeping it, even if it has changed a little during his regenerated forms.
After a few minutes or so, the Doctor was given his drink, which made him smile all the more. He loved these sort of drinks, or actually, anything with bananas in them. For some reason, he has retained a high fondness for the taste of bananas, which appeared during his last incarnation. "Thank you very much sir!" He said, nodding at the bartender as he went to attend to more bar goers. The Doctor sipped at his drink happily, turning in his chair to get a good look at the room. He chuckled at the way some buddies jostled one another in good humor, and shook his head and grinned at some others doing some rather silly things. It was only when he caught sight of a slightly violent scene did his smile falter. Two men were getting into it, over a young woman it seemed. Obviously the alcohol was the true one talking for the two men, and it was the testosterone that kept them both going. The Doctor watched, very much tempted to step in should they actually hurt someone other than themselves. However, another woman intervened instead. She was quite small compared to the two brutes who glared at one another. They had turned their glares upon her once she challenged them. The Doctor was intrigued by her, seeing as she stood unmoving and unafraid of the giant intoxicated men before her. She spoke to them, though the Doctor couldn't quite catch what she was saying. Obviously it had been enough to send one of the men packing, and the young blonde woman following after him. The other man though stayed where he was, even more infuriated by the dark haired woman's intrusion and ball busting move. The Doctor had stood up, very much prepared to step in, seeing as the man looked like he was getting far too close into the woman's personal space. The woman touched him however, and sent the brute howling like an animal, stampeding towards the nearest restroom and plowing down anyone in his way. The Doctor was astonished by this sudden turn of events, his eyes widening a bit in his surprise. He adjusted his glasses and picked up his drink, and wandered over to the woman, who now sat so innocently, like she had nothing to do with what had just happened. Everyone, much like himself, seemed surprised, but had eventually returned to their original tasks. The man made his way to the woman, a grin quickly returning to his youthful features.
"That was incredibly brilliant if I do say so myself! What in the world did you do to that nasty brute to make him yelp like that?" The Doctor asked, taking a seat next to the woman while taking another sip of his drink.

Letting a trickle of laughter out from between her lips, Seren watched as people enjoyed themselves around her, her mind still set on what had just happened. She honestly was surprised that the one guy had actually backed away. But maybe there was a purpose to that. Maybe he had known that the blonde would follow him if he came off as the more gentle, understanding type. Or maybe he just didn't feel like dealing with any crap. Either way, he won the girl in the end, and that had been his goal in the first place, right? Shrugging it off, the young woman thought about the other man, and couldn't hold back the next set of giggles that followed, the corners of her mouth curling upward behind her glass as she raised it to hide her smile. It had just been so... so... funny! She had to admit, she wasn't expecting that big, brawny man to be scared off so easily, but she supposed that it really must've been a shock to be burned from something that very clearly should not have been burning anything. Just as she was thinking about him the man emerged from the restroom, his eyes darting around for a moment before flying to the spot where he had earlier tried to corner her against the bar. Seren held back another sound of amusement as she took another sip from her drink, then almost inhaled the liquid too quickly as she spotted the holes on the guy's shirt. Sputtering for a second, she drew in a deep breath and coughed once or twice as her melodic laughs tumbled out and mixed themselves in. Oh, she had to admit, those little burned-in holes were a nice touch. They fit the shape of her fingertips just perfectly, and yet looked so odd with just a quick, first glance. Unless one knew the whole story, there could be a lot of wondering going on.
The dark-haired girl smiled ruefully as she watched the man, his eyes drifting from their spot and eventually finding her, locking on her like she was some target doomed for impact. Seren simply smiled at him and lifted her drink in reference to a good time, watching his expression change numerous times with pure enjoyment. She could see that he was contemplating coming over to her, but in the end he seemed to decide against it and turned away, disappearing into the crowd. She wouldn't be surprised if she saw him later in the night. As she turned and grabbed a fresh drink from the bar counter, one that she had ordered previously and ended up abandoning for the men as well, she was startled to find someone new plopping themselves down directly beside her, speaking up with a very peculiar accent. Blinking her molten eyes, the young woman turned to look at her new, unexpected company, allowing her expression to shift from surprise to curiosity to amusement as she took in his words, as well as the delicious sound of his voice. A large smile placed itself onto her lips, looking as if it had been meant to be there her entire life. Seren laughed and shook her head softly, a light in her eyes. "It's a secret, she said, "but if you stick around for a while I just might change my mind." Her eyes inspected the man as she spoke, finding him to be instantly interesting. Looked like she had found her catch of the day, a definite keeper. Seren was pleased that this man didn't seem to view her like she was some amazing spectacle, though his words said otherwise. Either way, she wasn't afraid to give him a chance. Besides, she was more than willing to hear this stranger's voice again. That accent of his was just... Well, there was just something undeniably charming about it. And the way he said his words was even interesting, almost like he had this old-fashioned air to him. It was something to fuel her curiosity, that was without question.
For being in a club scene such as this, she was also intrigued by his choice of clothing. She had always admired a man in a suit, and she had to admit, his outfit instantly gained him points over the rest of the male population that littered the space. It fit him just right, and seemed to suit his features perfectly. The smile, his eyes, his voice, his outfit... Everything about this stranger was absolutely charming. Not one to get ahead of herself in this department, though, Seren held her tongue and lowered her eyes, her gaze landing on her own appearance. She certainly didn't look like the perfect match to this man, that much was sure. The young woman wore a slim, golden dress that shone metallic in the light, emphasizing the color of her eyes, and a pair of nude heels that helped her petite legs appear long and endless. Her long, midnight hair was straightened and worn down, looking like running ink as it stretched down to the middle of her back and dipped over her shoulders. Her tribal tattoos were more than visible, with her dress being one that had quite the low back and her arms left sleeveless. She was exotic, and this man was more an opposite, coming off as one you would always be comfortable around at any time of the day, rather than one who would hold your interest but be too intimidating to approach. Seren lifted one of her hands and toyed with one of the many earrings that trailed up the rims of her ears as she raised her eyes back up to the stranger. She couldn't help the smile covered in crimson lipstick from staying off her face as she gave him a friendly, open expression. She knew the color of her eyes was accentuated tonight, and would probably be raising questions as well, for not only did her dress intensify the hue, but also her makeup did the trick. She didn't want to be the night's puzzle though. She wanted this stranger to be, and she wanted to learn more about him. Simply put, curiosity was a dangerous thing at times.

It seemed to the Doctor that there was never a dull moment. There was always something interesting happening, even if it wasn't exactly a positive scene to see. One couldn't let the negative affect them too much...of course, he had to admit, sometimes the negative events were rather overwhelming. Even the Doctor himself had succumbed to moments of anger or resentment. Everyone had their weak moments, and the Doctor was far from being the strongest when it came to facing dark temptations. But, he did what he could and took everything one day at a time to the best of his abilities. It was good to have distractions though, they kept him from dwelling on his past too much, and kept him from having a break down. When one lived as long as he did, one could see all the horrors of the universe, and yet, all the wonders of it too.
He studied the woman he had watched earlier, quite curious. She might think of him quite rude with the way he plopped himself beside her like an old friend would. He took note of the possible rudeness, and would ask her to pardon him, should she choose to stay where she was, and not slap him and walk out the door. Or something of that nature. Her attire was fairly typical for going out on the town, though the color was very eye catching. Perhaps that was the point. A lot of females here tend to dress in a flashy, colorful manner, much like male birds. The Doctor didn't much care for most clothing choices that women tended to wear here, nor did he care for said women hitting on him. He wasn't exactly a Casanova, so he couldn't really sweep a woman off her feet, nor could he properly register how to react to a woman flirting with him. Most of the time he felt uncomfortable because of how the women were acting towards him. So far, he didn't feel uncomfortable with this woman, seeing as it was he himself who approached her, not the other way around. She was interesting, and her clothing was nice. Her choice of color was very interesting, and it complimented her skin tone and made her eyes stand out...hmm...strange colored eyes for a female. Well, for a human female anyway. They were beautiful though, whatever this woman truly was. The Doctor couldn't help but notice her tribal tattoos that decorated her skin. Her hair was rather pretty too, all long and raven black. He shook his head, realizing he must have been staring. Another grin appeared on his face. "Pardon me for staring...and for just sitting here." He chuckled, putting his hands in his overcoat pockets. "Oh a secret eh? I do love cracking secrets and mysteries!" The Doctor grinned again and reached a hand out towards the young woman. "I'm the Doctor. A pleasure to meet you miss. Who are you if I might ask?" He asked, his eyes brightening some from behind his glasses.

Still messing with one of her earrings, Seren felt a light blush dust itself across her cheeks as the man beside her didn't immediately respond. He sorta just stared at her, and normally she would have brushed such a thing off without a second thought, but tonight it tugged at her, making the adventurous girl feel suddenly very self-conscious about herself. The young woman shifted a little in her spot on the stool, and quickly brought her drink up for a fast sip, her gaze fluttering down again as she tried to make the light blush disappear from her face. She could still feel the man's eyes on her, as well as a couple other pairs as well. She didn't doubt that one of them belonged to the drunken jerk from earlier. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wondered if he was going to attempt to make another appearance that night. Resting her hands and drink on her thigh, Seren turned her eyes back up, surprised to see the man's expression instantly change into a wide, adorable grin. The girl smiled back in return, unable to help herself, and laughed at his words. She shook her head, letting it go. It was done and over with now, nothing to do about it. "It's fine, don't worry about it," she replied, twisting her torso slightly so she could set her drink down on the counter. The ice was making her a little uncomfortable. As she turned back she laughed again, and nodded, her hair dripping down over her collarbone.
"Good. Just be careful that you don't get yourself burned," she responded lightly, though there was a truth behind her words. If he wasn't careful, he could end up like the guy from earlier, and she really didn't want to have to do any damage to that awfully nice suit of his. Seren smiled softly and extended her hand in return, grabbing his gently and giving it a firm shake. She truly hoped no extra heat resided on her fingers. They were already warm, and heating them often left them toasty for a little while afterwards, enough so to raise suspicions at times. "My name is Seren," she said in reply, her voice smooth as honey. "It's a pleasure to meet you too!" she said maybe just a tad bit too enthusiastically. Sometimes she just couldn't help her bubbly side from turning up. Tilting her head in curiosity, Seren allowed her eyes to roam over "The Doctor's" face, just now noticing the glasses he wore that were rather fitting to his outfit as well. "So, you're a doctor?" she inquired, nodding as she thought about this. "That's pretty cool. Does the Doctor have an actual name, or does he simply prefer the title of his calling?" she asked, a teasing glint in her eyes. She did find it a little odd that he hadn't given her an actual name.

The Doctor took a final sip from his drink, giving a mock frown at his now depleted banana daiquiri. He looked up to find that the bartenders had finally returned to their posts after the little bit of chaos that had occurred just minutes ago. The man grinned and waved down one of the wary bartenders and promptly requested another drink of the same kind. He then looked back over at the woman he sat next to, sorely hoping he hadn't made her uncomfortable by his unexpected presence. He had a habit of just showing up in the most random of places, whether he was wanted there or not. He had a knack for it apparently, and he took a great deal of amusement from that fact.
When the girl forgave his rather rude intrusion, the Doctor grinned even more, if that was at all possible. "Good! I'm glad I haven't frightened you away with my rudeness just yet." He chuckled and adjusted his glasses once more. Honestly, he didn't absolutely need the glasses. He was a little farsighted, but not enough so as to hinder him much. He quite frankly just felt a little more clever when he donned his "geek chic" glasses. It was a wonder the poor fellow hasn't been beaten up in an alley yet for the way he dressed. It was then that his second drink of the night appeared, and he looked positively giddy when he thanked the bartender and took the glass, taking an excited sip. He looked back to the woman, still smiling. "Yes, I know this is positively the most fruity and unmanly drink ever, but I sure do love bananas!" The Doctor chuckled, setting his glass down. He then raised an eyebrow at the woman's comment, his smile turning half crooked. "Oh believe me miss, I've been through worse. Although, I'd hate to underestimate you like that poor fellow." He said, casting a glance to where the brute of a man had vanished to.
When the two shook hands, the Doctor noted that her hand was fairly warm, perhaps a little warmer than usual, even when cramped into a very full night club. He wouldn't pry her of too oddball of questions, at least not yet anyways. He would hate to scare away a potentially pleasant companion. "Seren? What an unusually fascinating name! I think it fits a pretty lady like yourself though miss Seren if I do say so myself!" He said, hoping that he hadn't made her uncomfortable by saying that. A great deal of the time, he was quite brutally honest in both positive and negative manners. He didn't mean any harm by his comments, well, not usually anyways.
Ah, and there was the question about his true name and title. A very common thing to ask. It was a question he had tackled many times throughout his life, which he couldn't blame others for questioning him. He was a strange person, doing or saying strange things while calling himself a "doctor". No, he would question himself too were he someone else. He chuckled, looking away from Seren briefly to take another sip of his drink. "Yes, I am indeed a doctor. And yes, I do indeed have an actual name." Which was true, though of course his pseudo persona "Christopher" was in fact a lie. Only a small handful of times did he reveal his true name. Why he kept it a secret, he was unsure of himself. Perhaps he liked that cloak of mystery he had wrapped himself in all those years ago, or perhaps it was so engrained in his mind to keep himself a secret that he chose not to. Who knows for sure, not even himself. "I suppose the people around these parts call me Christopher, or Chris if you like shorter names." He gave another crooked grin and he raised an eyebrow. "Although, I like to keep a secret or two to myself also. Perhaps you'll figure out if that is my true name or not." He teased lightly, lowering his voice a little as if he were indeed telling Seren a secret. Another light hearted grin appeared on his face and he tilted her head very slightly. "So tell me miss Seren, what brings someone like yourself into a place like this? I picture you being a more...hmm...high class customer. Not sure why, and please don't take offense to that!" He chuckled a little nervously by his own random comment. Sometimes he wished he would actually think of what he said, rather than blurt it out like an idiot.

A soft smile graced Seren's lips as she saw the look on her new companion's face after he had finished off his drink. He looked quite disappointed that it had run dry as quickly as it had. She glanced over to her own drink as the bartender made their way over, contemplating whether she should just order a new beverage as well. She decided against it, seeing as how it was still at least half full. Seren returned her attention the Doctor, her eyebrows raising higher and higher the more words he said. He thought he was rude? Oh, he needed to simply take a look around, and he would see that he was not quite that. Seren could barely contain her laugh of amusement at his words as she shook her head and waved her hand slightly out toward the rest of the people in the club. "Oh please, it takes a lot more than a little bit of rudeness to scare me off. And, by the way, you're not half as rude as, mm, probably ninety percent of the population in here," she replied, an at-ease smile on her face. The girl watched as the Doctor looked away for a moment, grabbing his newly delivered drink, then returned his gaze to her. She smiled knowingly, understanding the pleasure felt when what you desired was given to you. A light laugh trickled from her lips, and she shook her head, a smile in her eyes.
"Oh no, it's a perfectly good drink! Pretty tasty, I've had it before," she giggled, already enjoying this man's company. Seren brushed away a stray lock of inky hair, nodding in agreement at what he said next. He definitely wasn't unobservant. "Yes, well, he had it coming to him..." she said, shrugging as she thought about it. She didn't elaborate on the part she had played. After she had shaken his hand, Seren felt another light blush come over her cheeks. Whether he had intended to or not, he had just given her a sweet compliment. The girl smiled and looked down, hiding her eyes as she let the comment settle in her mind. It wasn't very often that she got compliments, even indirect ones. People were usually too preoccupied in their own affairs to take a second of their time just to stop and take a look at her. "Oh, thank you. Yes, it's definitely..." she trailed off for a second, trying to think of a word to describe her name. After a moment, she laughed and shrugged, shaking her head in a fashion that said, "I don't really know." She finished what she had to say anyways, being one who hated leaving things incomplete. "Definitely different, I guess you could say."
Seren lifted her eyes back up, dragging them upward in a sluggish fashion, gaining height by little increments. They finally landed back on the Doctor's own eyes, and she smiled in encouragement for him to answer her question about his name. He seemed to think about it for a moment, breaking the eye contact as he drew his drink up for another sip. The next instant he spoke, and the raven-haired girl made notice to pay attention to what he had to say. Seren nodded, figuring that he must have had one. She didn't really blame him for not wanting to share it, especially to a stranger such as she. What he did next surprised her, and Seren knew her face showed a hint of her emotion. So Christopher it was. Or, wasn't...? Is that what he was hinting at, that even that wasn't his true name? Seren leaned back against the bar and smirked, feeling her curiosity burn at this man. He was a bag of tricks just begging to be explored. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Christopher," she responded, placing a teasing emphasis on his name. She paused briefly after he spoke again, thinking over her words before she answered. To be honest, she wasn't offended in the slightest. "Oh, no, I understand. Though the same could be asked of you," she said in reply, her eyes light with joking. She shrugged and grabbed her drink from the counter, swirling it as she spoke. "I suppose I'm just here to mix and mingle a bit. You never know who you're gonna meet in such a place," she said, a hidden meaning glinting behind her strangely colored eyes as she looked back to the Doctor.

Once again, the Doctor couldn't help but think in just how interesting this world could be, and how it seemed to change with each passing year or so. In some ways, it reminded him of his own home, but, few things here reminded him of his world. Certain people stood out to him, made him remember that he was just as misplaced and odd as they were. Seren so far, stood out to him very clearly, though so far in her company he did not feel entirely out of place or strange. She was different too, which comforted the man somewhat. He wondered quite a few things about her already, such as what she was and where in the void had she come from. But, now was not the time for such personal questions. And besides, like him, she liked to keep things a mystery, which made him wonder all the more furiously. Ah well, such as life.
When his new found companion spoke, the man found that he was once again grinning. Of course, had he ever really stopped grinning? It was rare to ever see the Time Lord without that preposterous smile on his face. Perhaps because of this, he seemed all the more terrifying when his true rage emerged. When he chose to, the Doctor was a raging inferno of emotion, and was nicknamed by a great deal of races as "The Oncoming Storm". And just the sheer name of that sent lesser races fleeing from his path. But, to their luck, the Doctor has learned over the years to quell his anger, and to be far more cheerful and optimistic, charismatic even. He just hoped that any acquired loved ones he gained here would never have to see him that way.
He shook himself out of his thoughts after having been silent for a moment. Hopefully Seren didn't notice his unintentional hesitation. "Well that's certainly good to know! And I suppose you're right on that...at least I don't make it a habit of harassing women...well, not in the manner in which your friend over there had." He chuckled, taking a quick glance around the room. His grin turned absolutely giddy once more when Seren agreed on how perfectly delicious his choice of drink was. "Isn't it just simply fantastic? The Human race certainly knows how to make a brilliant drink. Such a fascinating race! So resilient and versatile, and so very creative! They can be rather violent and rebellious though...but such is to be expected from a fairly new race...they'll learn in time, I have my utmost faith in that!" The Doctor exclaimed, truly genuine in his observation. Of course, he was rambling in an odd fashion again. When he realized his short little tangent, his eyes widened some and his cheeks grew slightly flushed with sudden embarrassment. "Pardon me, I sometimes just babble on in useless conversation." He gave another little chuckle and shook his head. "If he comes over to start something with you again, I would be more than glad to show him a thing or two as well. Of course, I very much doubt he would like to pick on you again." The man said, raising an eyebrow and offering a small devious smile.
They soon returned to the topic of names, a subject which always amused the man. "Hey now, different is never a bad thing. And if whoever tells you otherwise will have to answer to me, got it?" He said, a moment of seriousness crossing his face before his natural grin returned. The Doctor didn't know why he was already attaching himself to this woman. He did this from time to time, sometimes against his better judgement. Perhaps it was his loneliness that craved for the company of others, and sometimes like a child he desperately reached out for company, even if he knew it would end so very wrongly. He could remember many times he had taken companions along with him on his journeys, most of them having been human. Humans had the horrible tendency to wither away and die so quickly, either by age or by tragic mishaps that would haunt him forever. It was always sad to think that such companions would spend the rest of their lives with him, but he could never do the same for them. As they died, he was forced to live on, his near immortality having proven to be a curse a great deal of times. The Doctor was half begging himself to not make such a choice again, while the other half just wanted the option of having a companion again, if only for a while. Despite his logical, practical part of his mind's warnings, he ignored it.
"As I said before, it is certainly a pleasure to meet you as well Seren." He replied, his grin widening. He listened as she spoke again, intrigued simply by her voice alone. It was pleasant, and it had a nice tone to it. He always loved speaking with women, not because he was a womanizer or anything of the sort, but just simply because they were so friendly for the most part, and weren't fired up with testosterone like males were. "Nothing wrong with mingling, or mixing thing up for that matter. I suppose I'm here for the same reason, and because I've never actually been here before." He paused for a moment, locking eyes with Seren once more and smiling, agreeing with her comment entirely. "You are most definitely right on that as well miss. In places like this you tend to meet some rather interesting and exotic people." The Doctor said as he stole another sip from his drink. "I take it you live around here then? Or are you just passing by?" He asked, genuinely curious. There, simple questions shouldn't scare her away...or at least he hoped they wouldn't. He honestly didn't care how trivial of questions he was asking, he just wanted to know this woman, if only just a little bit.
